Job summary

Van Buren County is seeking a Fleet Vehicle Mechanic to perform light maintenance repairs on fleet vehicles under the supervision of the Master Mechanic. You will top off fluids, change bulbs, and assist with repairs while keeping parts and tools organized.

Must have a minimum one-year formal mechanic training or experience, and a Class C CDL with Passenger endorsement. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to DOT testing and pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years unrestricted driving experience.
• Must have a minimum one-year formal mechanic's training or experience in servicing light- and medium-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and foster positive working relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
• Assist Master Mechanic in vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Read, interpret, and work from manuals, diagrams, and written instructions.
• Operate compressors, steam cleaners, pneumatic and electric tools.
• Deliver and pickup equipment requiring a Class C CDL.
• Maintain records and logs of vehicle servicing.
