Job summary

Waste Management in the United States is seeking a Fleet Manager to lead the full fleet of primary and secondary equipment and focus on profitability through effective maintenance, cost control, and safety standards.

The role manages maintenance managers, oversees budgets, and ensures trained staff, safe operations, and compliance with corporate programs while driving a positive team environment in an on-site Tom's River area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or GED with 4 years of relevant experience.
• 5 years of relevant experience (in addition to education requirements).
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.
• Manages maintenance managers to drive performance and cost focus.
• Reviews capital equipment requisitions per corporate guidelines.
• Oversees maintenance shops staffing and technician training.
• Ensures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized.
• Supports budget processes and employee development.
• Maintains maintenance shop cleanliness and preventive maintenance programs.

Education

Bachelor's Degree (accredited)

GED/High School Diploma with 4 years relevant experience
