Job summary

WM is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee the full fleet and maintenance activities across the assigned area. The role focuses on profitability, cost control, and driving high training and safety standards in operations.

The candidate will lead maintenance managers, ensure safe vehicle availability, and manage capital equipment and budgets in alignment with company guidelines. This on-site position emphasizes safety and performance in a dynamic environment in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of Degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant experience.
• 5 years previous experience (in addition to education requirements).
• Valid Driver's License required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.
• Manages maintenance managers to ensure performance and cost focus across the area.
• Reviews capital equipment requisitions in line with corporate guidelines and objectives.
• Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets.
• Ensures maintenance shops are adequately staffed and mechanics are properly trained.
• Complies with WM's Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
• Meets all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion.
• Assists in budget process as required.
