Job summary

MV Transportation in Columbus, OH is seeking a Shop Foreman to manage all maintenance operations during the shift, including preventative maintenance and repair of vehicles. The Shop Foreman will lead maintenance staff and ensure contractual requirements are met. Experience with air conditioning systems, transmissions, electrical diagnosis and wheelchair lifts is preferred. The role involves extensive reporting and collaboration with the Fleet Manager.

Qualifications

• Ability to prioritize and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
• Track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
• Manage financial and accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
• Communicate effectively with all staff levels, in writing and verbally.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Technical competence with heavy diesel vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, candor and tact.
• Diesel experience preferred.
• Ase certified truck or school bus preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily/weekly/monthly/annual reporting for maintenance.
• Manage the maintenance program budget and resources.
• Train and develop maintenance staff and collaborate with the Fleet Manager.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and maintain confidentiality.
