Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a Shop Foreman to manage all maintenance activities during the shift, including preventative maintenance and repairs for vehicles. The role involves leading maintenance and utility staff, meeting contractual requirements, and producing routine reports while collaborating with the Fleet Manager on day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Must prioritize, schedule and manage multiple tasks.
• Track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
• Manage financial/accounting aspects of fleet maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with all staff levels in writing and speaking.
• Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and MS Outlook.
• Technical competence with heavy diesel vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Demonstrate initiative, professionalism and tact.
• Diesel experience preferred.
• ASE certified truck or school bus preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance operations during shift, including preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Lead maintenance and utility staff and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports and manage maintenance program budget.
• Collaborate with Fleet Manager to run day-to-day operations.
• Possess experience with air conditioning, transmissions, electrical diagnostics, emission control, and wheelchair lifts.
