Job summary

Transdev is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the department, schedule repairs, and oversee shop workers for heavy‑duty and paratransit equipment. The role requires CDL Class B, ASE credentials, and 7+ years of relevant experience with 3+ years in supervision.

The position offers a full-time schedule in California with competitive pay and standard benefits. Occasional travel (<5%) and shift flexibility are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class B with passenger endorsements or onsite training available.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in repair/maintenance of heavy‑duty equipment, with at least 3 years supervisory experience.
• ASE certifications required or obtainable within 180 days.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Broad understanding of mechanical systems related to heavy‑duty and paratransit vehicles.
• Familiarity with safety regulations for maintenance facilities.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Proficient in reading/writing routine reports and MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel <5% for meetings.
• Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Schedules department employees and supervises mechanics and shop workers.
• Selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates personnel.
• Coordinates work with outside vendors.
• Develops efficient repair schedules; reviews cost estimates.
• Prioritizes maintenance and repairs based on material availability and operations.
• Ensures equipment is maintained and operating efficiently.
• Controls and monitors inventory.
• Ensures vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and functioning properly.
• Develops and enforces safety policies for the department.
• Assists in budgeting and cost control for operations.
• Identifies opportunities to improve service delivery methods.
• Maintains an organized workplace.
