Amerit Fleet Solutions in Chicago is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead a team of technicians and mechanics in a proactive maintenance program for heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency and cost control in a dynamic shop environment.

The ideal candidate brings 5–8 years of management experience, hands-on fleet repair knowledge, and strong communication skills. This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a Monday–Friday schedule

Formación

• At least 2 years in fleet maintenance or operations and 5–8 years of direct management experience.
• Previous technician/mechanic experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Familiarity with heavy truck/trailer repair and maintenance.
• Ability to travel as needed and oversee multiple shop locations.
• Strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills; strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel and ERP/timekeeping systems.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, educate and develop employees.
• Monitor performance and be accessible to all areas of the shop.
• Oversee multiple shop operations.
• Plan daily manpower to meet workload.
• Support operations with all equipment-related issues.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
• Perform payroll approvals and compliance documentation.
• Address corrective actions for direct reports.
• Ensure clean, safe working conditions in the facility and equipment.
• Communicate with clients to meet operations and company needs.
• Monitor equipment sent to outside sources for repairs.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Interview and hire for shop positions.
