Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee day-to-day maintenance for a multimode bus operation in Tuolumne, CA. You will manage budgets, track maintenance programs, and produce regular reports to meet contractual requirements.

The role requires hands-on supervision, prior transportation maintenance experience, and strong communication with clients and staff. A CDL-B with passenger and airbrake endorsements may be preferred for on-site fleet oversight.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years journeyman mechanic experience and at least three years in maintenance supervision.
• Experience in passenger transportation in projects or similar environment preferred.
• Hands-on maintenance tasks required and client interfacing ability.
• Strong parts inventory control and scheduling skills.
• Financial management of a fleet maintenance operation and auditing experience.
• Clear written and oral communication; CDL-B with passenger/airbrake is a plus.

Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager who will be a dynamic, multi-task oriented senior professional to manage all day-to-day maintenance as aspects of a multimode bus operation. The Fleet Maintenance Manager will ensure that all contractual requirements are achieved, and duties included will consist of daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports. The Fleet Maintenance Manager must be able to properly manage a budget for maintenance program.

Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

• Minimum of five (2) years of journey-level mechanic experience and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in maintenance supervision.
• Previous passenger transportation in current project or similar environment preferred.
• Must perform hands on maintenance tasks periodically.
• Must be able to manage and interface with client.
• Must have the ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
• Must be able to properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
• Must be able to manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
• Must have computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft outlook.
• Must have technical competence with light/medium/heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Must display initiative, professionalism, candor and tact at all times.
• Technical experience with fixed route and paratransit bus maintenance.
• Solid knowledge of managing audits, PM schedules.
• Some experience with Diesel, Electric and Alternative fuels required.
• Must have a CDL class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement.
• Able to oversee a mixed fleet of diesel, gas, hybrid and battery electric vehicles.
• ASE certifications are a plus.

Starting salary range: $72,000 - $85,000
