Cathay Express Transportation, Inc. in Queens is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead daily maintenance, fleet readiness, and shop operations for the NYC service area.

You will supervise maintenance staff, coordinate with vendors, ensure compliance with NYSDOT and company standards, and drive preventive maintenance and repairs to keep vehicles service-ready and safe for patients and clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 5–7 years of experience in heavy‑duty automotive maintenance (bus, transit, paratransit, diesel, or fleet).
• 3+ years of supervisory or lead experience managing mechanics, vendors, or shop staff.
• Strong knowledge of heavy‑duty vehicle systems (brakes, electrical, engines, wheelchair lifts).
• Experience with NYSDOT inspections, maintenance records, and compliance files preferred.
• Valid CDL Class B or higher with passenger and air brake endorsements preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, emailing, reporting, and maintenance tracking.

Responsabilités

• Lead day‑to‑day maintenance operations including staff, vendors, and admin support.
• Plan daily work to protect pullout, availability, service, inspections, and repairs.
• Ensure buses and support vehicles are safe, clean, inspected, fueled, and service‑ready.
• Coordinate with operations and dispatch on vehicle status, spares, road calls, and repairs.
• Support NYSDOT inspections, audits, corrective actions, and compliance files.
• Oversee shop safety and environmental controls; enforce safety standards.
• Hire, train, coach, and manage maintenance staff; address performance issues.
• Coordinate with operations, drivers, vendors, client representatives, and leadership.
• Manage parts, tools, inventory, warranties, and vendor follow-up.
• Participate in budgeting, cost control, and maintenance reporting.
