Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 5+ years in heavy-duty automotive, bus, transit, or fleet maintenance.
• 3+ years supervisory or lead experience.
• Broad understanding of heavy-duty vehicle systems (brakes, air, electrical, steering, suspension).
• Hands-on PM, inspections, road calls, work orders, parts control, and vehicle readiness.
• Experience with NYSDOT inspections, maintenance records, and vehicle compliance preferred.
• CDL Class B or higher with passenger and air brake endorsements preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Office, email, reporting, and maintenance tracking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day maintenance operation, including staff and vendors.
• Plan daily work to protect pullout and vehicle availability.
• Ensure buses and support vehicles are safe, inspected, fueled, and service-ready.
• Maintain communication with operations on vehicle status and repairs.
• Maintain maintenance records, inspections, and DVIR compliance.
• Support shop safety, environmental controls, and company policies.
• Coordinate with vendors, parts suppliers, and outside repair shops.
• Participate in maintenance budgeting and cost control.
