Job summary

Republic Services in Vidalia, GA is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a diesel and heavy equipment shop, directing technicians to perform preventive maintenance and repairs safely and efficiently.

You will schedule work, monitor performance, coach staff, and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations, while managing inventory and budget and guiding maintenance strategy with the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• ASE certifications and diesel engine expertise are preferred.
• Experience supervising a lead technician or maintenance team is expected, with knowledge of safety and DOT/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to lead technicians to ensure safe and timely repairs and maintenance.
• Monitor performance, redirect activities, and report to management with improvement recommendations.
• Supervise shop operations, conduct training, coaching, hiring/terminations, and performance appraisals.
• Perform inspections and quality control to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Oversee inventory control, budget adherence, and maintenance of equipment records in Dossier software.
