Job summary

The City of Panama City seeks a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily fleet operations, oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory for City vehicles and equipment. You will supervise fleet mechanics, ensure safe, reliable service, and drive efficiency through KPI tracking, labor and parts records, and timely work orders using the Fleet Management System.

Qualifications

Five years of automotive, diesel, heavy equipment repair, or fleet maintenance experience.
Valid Florida driver’s license with a safe driving record within 30 days of employment.
Experience using fleet management software.
CPR/First Aid/AED certifications within six months of employment.
Experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, heavy equipment repair; Florida CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervises and directs the activities of assigned staff; schedules employees and monitors progress.
Ensures fleet repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and per procedures.
Maintains fleet availability by minimizing downtime and improving repair turnaround times.
Coordinates emergency repairs and critical equipment needs.
Maintains and reviews fleet records via fleet software (work orders, PM schedules, vehicle history).
Develops, manages, and monitors preventive maintenance programs.
