Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) seeks an experienced maintenance technician to inspect, repair, and maintain machinery such as hydraulic compactors, backhoes, wheel loaders and related equipment for daily district operations.

You will assist with preventive maintenance, welding, electrical, tire and hydraulic repairs, and perform duties as assigned to keep pumps, motors and service vehicles running safely.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years of experience with light/heavy vehicle maintenance and repair, welding, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
• ASE Certification preferred but not required.

Job Description Summary:

This position assists in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of machinery such as hydraulic compactors, compressors, backhoes, wheel loaders, roll off trucks, Class 8 truck tractors, transfer trailers, and sludge hauling trailers.

Provide assistance with routine preventative maintenance and repair of equipment such as hydraulic compactors, backhoes, wheel loaders, roll off trucks, Class 8 truck tractors, transfer trailers, and sludge hauling trailers. Assist with preventative maintenance, welding, electrical, tire and hydraulic repairs. Will be assigned various related duties as necessary.

Job Requirements Education & Experience:

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess a minimum of two years of experience with light/heavy vehicle maintenance and repair, welding, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
• ASE Certification preferred but not required.
• Maintains a valid Texas Driver's License.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must have the ability to comprehend, carry out and administer written and oral instruction.
• Must have the ability to read operation and maintenance manuals.

Environmental & Physical Working Conditions:

Driving a District vehicle for business will be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current, valid, and vehicle - appropriate driver' s license of their resident state. This position requires continuous physical exertion often of a strenuous nature. Lifts or pulls/pushes 50 to 100 pounds on a daily basis in order to repair and service pumps, motors and machinery while using various hand tools and equipment. Working conditions include exposure to weather, odor, noise, gases and dust. Hand and power tools including impact wrenches, drill press and lathe, welding equipment, pickup truck, service truck, emergency lighting equipment and safety equipment.

Compensation Range $20.32 - $30.08 Compensation Grade 20
