Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District seeks a dedicated Maintenance Technician to assist in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of diverse heavy equipment including hydraulic compactors, backhoes, wheel loaders, and service trucks in our Texas facilities. Responsibilities include routine preventive maintenance, welding, electrical, tire and hydraulic repairs, and supporting related duties as needed.

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years of experience with light/heavy vehicle maintenance and repair, welding, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
• ASE Certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine preventative maintenance and repair of equipment such as hydraulic compactors, backhoes, wheel loaders, roll off trucks, Class 8 truck tractors, transfer trailers, and sludge hauling trailers.
• Assist with welding, electrical, tire and hydraulic repairs.
• Will be assigned various related duties as necessary.

Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current, valid, and vehicle - appropriate driver' s license of their resident state.This position requires continuous physical exertion often of a strenuous nature. Lifts or pulls/pushes 50 to 100 pounds on a daily basis in order to repair and service pumps, motors and machinery while using various hand tools and equipment. Working conditions include exposure to weather, odor, noise, gases and dust.
