Job summary

Avis Budget Group seeks a Fleet Maintenance and Damage Manager to support the SC City Manager in maximizing fleet utilization and profitability. This role directs maintenance, repair, and in-fleeting/de-fleeting of rental vehicles across the district, while coordinating with vendors and internal partners to meet service levels.

Responsibilities include budgeting, KPI monitoring, vendor management, and leading a team of managers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years management experience in related field (rental car, automotive shop).
• Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
• Proven vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organizational and forecasting abilities.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops operating plans to maximize fleet utilization.
• Oversees maintenance, repair and reconditioning of fleet vehicles.
• Manages vendor relationships and service levels.
• Coordinates damage appraisals and repairs.
• Leads hiring, onboarding and performance management.
