Job summary

City of Aurora is seeking an Apprentice Fleet Mechanic (Light) for the Central Fleet in Aurora, CO. This training role supports preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and basic repairs on City vehicles and equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Colorado driver’s license with good driving history is required.
• At least 6 months experience servicing automotive vehicles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train in performing preventative maintenance on City vehicles and equipment.
• Learn diagnostic procedures on hydraulic, electronic and mechanical systems.
• Assist with routine maintenance on automotive operating systems and services.
• Learn to handle hazardous materials per EPA and City standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
