Job summary

NOVA Workforce Adjunct faculty member(s) teach fleet maintenance, delivering hands-on training in diesel engines, electrical and mechanical systems. Courses may be face-to-face, remote or online, with load-based schedules in evenings/weekends. The role emphasizes safety, student outcomes, and alignment with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicle systems.
• Familiar with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA regulations, EPA guidelines, and shop safety.
• Understanding of fleet maintenance, DOT inspections, and compliance.
• Experience teaching adult learners and lab-based instruction.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in labs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on, fast-paced training for adult learners in maintenance skills.
• Lead the skilled trades lab ensuring OSHA and NFPA 70E safety compliance.
• Teach to prepare students for EGSA or related certifications.
• Schedule students, assess learning, and provide feedback.
