Job summary

NOVA Workforce at Northern VA Community College is seeking an experienced instructor to deliver classroom and technical training for EPA 608 Universal certification. This non-credit, 42 instructional hour course targets adult learners and may require evening or Saturday sessions.

In addition to instruction, the role includes proctoring exams. The instructor will prepare and evaluate materials, ensure safety in labs, and collaborate with program managers on scheduling and resources.

Qualifications

• Active EPA 608 Universal certification is required.
• Two years’ HVAC/R field experience and one year teaching experience.
• Ability to teach adults in classroom, hybrid, and online formats.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on instruction to prepare students for EPA 608 exams.
• Prepare and evaluate course materials, syllabi, and labs.
• Evaluate student learning and readiness for certification exams.
• Assist in class scheduling and program management.
• Advise on supplies and materials needs for the class.
• Maintain hazard-free classroom and lab environments.
