Job summary

Yuma County is seeking a skilled automotive and heavy equipment technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain the county fleet. You will perform preventative maintenance on engines, transmissions, and related systems, document work in Fleet Management software, and support on‑call rotations.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, two years of relevant experience, a valid Arizona driver’s license, ability to lift 25–50 pounds, and possession of your own hand tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of recent experience in maintenance/repair of automotive and heavy equipment.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
• Background check and pre-employment drug test required.
• Must possess own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, repairs and maintains automotive and heavy equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance on engines, transmissions, transaxles, transfer cases, rear ends and chassis lubrication.
• Commutes to locations requiring servicing and repair assistance.
• Records repairs and parts in Fleet Management software.
• Provides on-call, 24-7 services on a rotating schedule.
