Job summary

Yuma County is seeking a skilled automotive/heavy equipment technician to diagnose, repair and maintain our fleet. The role includes road testing vehicles, performing preventative maintenance, and recording all service activity in our Fleet Management system.

Under close supervision, you will work with various systems and be exposed to demanding conditions. A high school diploma or GED and two years of related experience are required, along with a valid Arizona driver’s license and tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; two years of recent experience in automotive/heavy equipment maintenance.
• Background check and pre-employment drug test may be required.
• Must possess own hand tools.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain automotive systems in the equipment fleet.
• Perform preventative maintenance on engines, transmissions, and chassis lubrication.
• Document service time, work performed and parts used in Fleet Management software.
• Road test vehicles and operate equipment.
• Provide on-call, 24-7 services on a predetermined rotation schedule.
