Qualifications

• At least two years of experience directing work for other mechanics in a garage setting.
• Knowledge of applicable Federal and State school bus safety regulations.
• Ability to secure and maintain the district's school bus licensure.
• Experience working in a diverse community and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and coordinates the work of all garage mechanics.
• Maintains and repairs all district motor vehicles and maintenance equipment.
• Develops and implements preventive maintenance schedules and replacement plans.
• Inspects vehicles for wear, performs repairs and ensures safety and reliability.
• Keeps cost records and communicates schedules to staff.
• May cover routes or duties of a school bus driver when needed.
• Ensures adherence to district policies and regulatory requirements.
