Job summary

Richfield Public Schools in Minnesota is seeking a full-time Garage Supervisor / Mechanic to oversee the district’s garage team and fleet, ensuring vehicles and maintenance equipment are kept in safe, ready-to-use condition. You will lead mechanics, perform repairs, and uphold safety standards across the district’s transportation assets.

Qualifications

• At least two years' experience providing clear, consistent work direction to other mechanics in a comparable garage setting.
• Working knowledge of Federal and State school bus safety regulations and ability to maintain the District's fleet that complies with those regulations.
• Valid MN driver's license and a driving record that meets or exceeds District standards.
• Ability to secure and maintain the appropriate school bus licensure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate work of all garage mechanics in the district.
• Maintain and repair all motor vehicles, transportation equipment and motorized maintenance equipment owned by the District.
• Ensure safety regulations and compliance for the fleet are followed.
• Assist in securing and maintaining school bus licensure as required.

Frontline Applicant Tracking - Richfield Public Schools

The Richfield Public School District is now accepting applications for a full-time Garage Supervisor / Mechanic. This position will oversee and coordinate work of all garage mechanics in addition to maintaining and repairing all motor vehicles, transportation equipment and all motorized maintenance equipment (e.g. mowers, snow blowers, tractors, etc.) owned by the District, based on priority and/or seasonal considerations, to help ensure all vehicles and equipment are kept in a safe, ready-to-use and reliable condition.

Requirements:

• At least two years' experience in providing clear, consistent work direction to other mechanics in a comparable garage setting.

Pay Rate: $30.32 - $35.62 (Based on education and experience)

R ichfield Public Schools offers a comprehensive benefit package. Please note, the current rate is for the 2025-26 and contract is currently under negotiation for the 2026-27 school year.
