Job summary

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, part of the Ohio Department of Public Safety, is seeking a Fleet Garage Supervisor at the Alum Creek facility in Columbus. You will supervise staff, coordinate daily operations of the central fleet garage, and ensure vehicles are assigned based on needs.

The role requires maintaining maintenance procedures, coordinating recalls, and reviewing accident reports to stay compliant with state insurance providers.

Qualifications

  • 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in record keeping/inventory control.
  • AND 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in basic auto repair or maintenance.
  • -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as liaison between ODPS divisions & the Fleet Office; Ensures vehicles are assigned based on employee needs.
  • Provides direct supervision to staff.
  • Formulates, creates & assigns work plans & develops procedures for conducting inventory.
  • Writes new or modifies existing maintenance procedures & implements approved procedures.
  • Coordinates daily operation of the central Fleet garage.
  • Coordinates vehicle recalls & reviews vehicle accident reports to ensure compliance with state insurance providers; Periodically reviews preventative maintenance schedules.
