Job summary

The Ohio Department of Public Safety – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is seeking a Fleet Garage Supervisor to oversee the Alum Creek Facility in Columbus. You will supervise staff, coordinate the central fleet garage, and assign vehicles to meet operational needs.

Responsibilities include developing work plans, maintaining procedures, coordinating recalls and maintenance, and liaising with divisions and the Fleet Office to ensure compliance and efficiency in daily operations.

Qualifications

• 3 courses or 9 months of experience in record keeping/inventory control.
• 3 courses or 9 months of experience in basic auto repair or maintenance.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

• Provides direct supervision to staff.
• Formulates, creates and assigns work plans; develops procedures for inventory.
• Writes or modifies maintenance procedures and implements approved procedures.
• Coordinates daily operation of the central Fleet garage.
• Coordinates vehicle recalls and reviews accident reports for compliance with state insurance providers; periodically reviews preventive maintenance schedules.

What You'll Do As a Fleet Garage Supervisor

• Writes new or modifies existing maintenance procedures & implements approved procedures.

• Coordinates vehicle recalls & reviews vehicle accident reports to ensure compliance with state insurance providers; Periodically reviews preventative maintenance schedules.

3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in record keeping/inventory control; AND 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in basic auto repair or maintenance.
