Job summary

City of Lubbock is seeking a skilled automotive technician to perform basic mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on City vehicles and equipment, including fuel systems.

Qualifications

• Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent with two years of automotive experience or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Physical Exam Required
• Must obtain Class-B CDL within six months
• UST A/B operator certification
• Airport Security Identification Badge

Responsibilities

• Perform basic mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on City vehicles and equipment
• Replace, repair, and overhaul fuel systems on City assets
• Maintain City fuel sites, repair fuel pumps, and keep fuel reports
• Assist with vehicle up-fitting and auction duties
• Diagnose and repair cooling, heating, and air-conditioning systems
• Receive fuel deliveries and manage inventories
• On-call support for fuel issues during nights, weekends and holidays
• Installation and removal of equipment and decals
• Evaluate vehicles and equipment designated for auction
• Perform related duties as required
