Job summary

Lubbock-Cooper ISD is seeking a Shop Technician to assist in the maintenance, repair, and inspection of district vehicles, including school buses. You will support transportation mechanics and help maintain a clean, safe bus shop environment.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and a Texas driver’s license. CDL is preferred or ability to obtain. Training emphasizes safety standards and basic vehicle maintenance tasks within a cooperative transportation team.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid Texas driver's license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain).
CDL preferred or ability to obtain within reasonable time frame.

Responsibilities

Assist mechanics with routine maintenance of buses and district vehicles (oil changes, filter replacement, tire service, lubrication).
Perform basic repairs as directed.
Inspect vehicles for visible defects and report issues.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus barn and shop areas.
Assist with fueling buses and checking fluid levels.
