Job summary

The City of Austin's Fleet Mobility Services seeks a Fleet Equipment Technician I to assist in maintaining a diverse fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. Under supervision, you will perform refueling, preventive maintenance, tire work, lubrication, and basic repairs, documenting service activities and following safety standards.

You may transport vehicles and occasionally work after-hours or on-call to support city operations. A Class C license is required, with CDL eligibility within 120 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months related experience.
• Auto/diesel certification or A.A. degree may substitute for experience.
• Requires Class C driver’s license; CDL within 120 days if required.

Responsibilities

• Refuel and perform preventive maintenance on various vehicles and equipment.
• Change all types of tires and repair small tires.
• Lubricate vehicles and change oil and filters.
