Job summary

The role emphasizes rapid turnaround, quality control, and safety compliance, with a salary range of $33.00 to $36.00 hourly. Responsibilities include inspecting brakes and steering, reconditioning parts, performing routine servicing, and testing systems to ensure proper operation.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of OSHA standards related to fleet operations.
• Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business material and technical procedures.
• Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Able to present information clearly to managers, clients and the public.
• Ability to handle problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to analyze records, reports, and procedures and explain them to others.
• Requires sound judgment regarding use of equipment, tools, materials and manpower.
• Ability to delegate tasks to complete projects on time with no wasted time.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Fleet Manager to ensure cohesive repair processes, rapid turnaround and quality control.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other key parts.
• Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and reassemble equipment.
• Inspect and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions and verify proper operation.
• Attach test instruments to equipment and read dials and gauges to diagnose issues.
• Inspect, verify dimensions and clearances to meet factory specs.
• Inspect, test and listen to defective equipment using diagnostic tools.
• Recondition and replace parts, pistons, bearings, gears, and valves.
• Rewire ignition systems, lights and instrument panels.
• Align front ends and suspension systems.
• Inspect, repair and maintain automotive machinery such as pumps and compressors.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle heating and cooling systems.
