Job summary

Georgia Forestry Commission seeks a Fleet and Fabrication Shop Manager to oversee the agency's vehicle and equipment fleet and the fabrication shop. You will coordinate maintenance, replacements, and training, and supervise staff while ensuring compliance with state policies.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience with supervisory responsibilities, plus strong Excel and Office skills to manage budgets and procurement within defined guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma/GED and 2 years' experience in the area, with 1 year in lead/supervisory role or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with high Excel proficiency.
• Knowledge of DOAS and agency purchasing/procurement software (Element, Team Georgia Market Place, Asset Management systems).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the assignment, maintenance, and replacement of vehicles and equipment in the fleet program.
• Oversee fabrication and shop operations; supervise staff and ensure timely project completion.
• Manage preventive maintenance program, budget submissions, and expense tracking.
• Receive new equipment and coordinate outfitting for field release; monitor fuel program and recalls.
