Job summary

Georgia Forestry Commission is seeking a Purchase/Procurement Supervisor to lead staff in purchasing, supplier management, and contract execution. You will guide procurement strategies, oversee competitive solicitations, and ensure compliance with Georgia procurement rules.

The role requires experience in procurement leadership, strong vendor relations, and knowledge of RFQ/ITB/RFP processes, with a focus on minimizing costs while maximizing customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or business plus 4 years in procurement with 1 year in supervision.
• Technical diploma in accounting or business plus 5 years in procurement with 1 year in supervision.
• Two years at lower level Procurement Agent 1/3 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff in purchasing and procurement activities and sets performance expectations.
• Coordinates contract development, negotiation, administration and renewals.
• Monitors contract performance for compliance and changes.
• Oversees RFQs, ITBs, and RFPs and awards contracts for products/services.
• Maintains vendor relationships and addresses protests per timelines.
• Ensures knowledge of procurement laws and participates in training.
