Job summary

Kimmel & Associates Inc. in the United States seeks a Director of Fleet & Equipment to lead strategy, financial performance, and lifecycle management of a corporate fleet valued at over $20 million and 750+ assets.

The successful candidate will blend strategic planning, financial oversight, equipment knowledge, and operational leadership to standardize a technology-enabled fleet program across utility, renewable, and construction sectors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in fleet management or operations leadership.
• Experience managing assets valued at $10M+.
• Experience in electrical contracting or heavy civil construction.
• Strong financial acumen, budgeting and cost control.
• Knowledge of DOT/OSHA/EPA and regulatory requirements.
• Proven leadership of distributed teams and cross-functional partners.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics and predictive maintenance.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strategic planning: develop long-term fleet strategies and replacement schedules.
• Fleet lifecycle management: oversee procurement, leasing, maintenance, and disposal.
• Financial management: manage budgets and optimize total cost of ownership.
• Vendor management: negotiate with manufacturers, dealers, and rental providers.
• Technology & innovation: advance telematics, GPS, analytics, and forecasting.
• Maintenance & reliability: set standards to maximize uptime and reduce downtime.
• Safety & compliance: ensure DOT/OSHA/EPA compliance and training.
• Cross-functional leadership: partner with Operations, Finance, and Safety.
• Performance reporting: build dashboards to measure utilization and costs.
• Team development: mentor fleet personnel across locations.
