Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking an experienced Mechanic B to support fleet maintenance operations, perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics, and mentor Mechanic C technicians. The role focuses on safe, professional service to keep equipment on the rental ready line.

The position requires solid mechanical knowledge, ability to read schematics, and experience with electrical and hydraulic systems. A strong commitment to safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Owns a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete repairs.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Mechanic C-level tasks and reading schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Herc-owned fleet at the branch.
• Diagnose and repair cooling, fuel, and electrical systems.
• Use computerized tools to trace electrical faults and test sensors.
• Assist in training Mechanic C technicians and report on repairs.
• Produce service reports and logs for repairs and maintenance.
