Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years of direct experience in freight dispatching, logistics coordination, or fleet support.
• Solid understanding of DOT regulations, driver compliance, Hours of Service (HOS), and standard freight documentation.
• Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), fleet telematics/ELD platforms, and spreadsheet tools (MS Excel / Google Sheets).
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate with drivers and customer contacts.
• Strong organizational abilities and quick decision-making to resolve transit disruptions in real time.

Responsibilities

• Fleet Dispatch & Route Coordination: Assign daily routes, loads, and delivery stops to drivers while maximizing asset utilization and ensuring HOS compliance.
• Driver Communication & Support: Primary point of contact for drivers on the road; address routing delays, mechanical issues, weather detours, and access constraints.
• Shipment Tracking & Status Reporting: Monitor freight in transit; provide milestone updates, POD confirmations, and ETA adjustments.
• Cross-Functional Logistics Support: Coordinate load handoffs between warehousing/dock personnel and drivers, ensuring proper staging and loading.
• Documentation & Compliance Oversight: Process BOLs, manifests, trip sheets, and delivery receipts in line with transportation safety guidelines.
• Issue Escalation & Exception Management: Troubleshoot missed deliveries, detained freight, OS&D, and delays to minimize bottlenecks.
