Kings County Public Works Department seeks a dependable Fleet Service Attendant to help keep our County vehicle fleet running smoothly. You will assign and dispatch motor pool vehicles, maintain computerized records, and support daily operations.

The role involves vehicle inspections, basic maintenance tasks, and coordinating repairs with mechanics. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
• One year of general clerical or routine automotive maintenance experience.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license at the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and schedules motor pool vehicles and dispatches them to user departments; maintains records of usage and service.
• Maintains vehicle records, mileage, service dates, and prepares reports or spreadsheets.
• Performs minor preventive maintenance, inspects fluid levels and safety issues, and coordinates repairs.
• Picks up and delivers vehicles and supervises inmate or other workers when assigned.

Education
