Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Technician, II Fleet in Duncan, SC. The role runs Monday through Friday 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Open to no remote work.

Compensation range listed is $24.09–$26.77 per hour. Candidate will diagnose and repair tractors and trailers, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure DOT compliance. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a diesel tech diploma is preferred. A valid driver’s license and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and diesel tech training.
• Technical diploma in diesel tech preferred and may substitute for experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to read/write are required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and service tractors and trailers including transmission, engine, electrical, suspension, driveline, HVAC, brakes and air systems.
• Perform light trailer body repairs, doors, tires, and lighting systems.
• Conduct basic and routine preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers.
• Replace bolts on body parts and perform general hardware maintenance.
• Operate yard vehicle to move trucks/ trailers before and after repairs.
• Complete DOT inspections and documentation accurately and timely.
• Prepare tractors for next driver and perform 90-day lease inspections.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and meet productivity targets.
