Job summary

Raya Workforce LLC is seeking a dependable Fleet Mechanic with strong Diesel experience to maintain a commercial vehicle fleet across Central Illinois. You’ll diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and keep trucks, trailers, and related fleet equipment in peak operating condition.

Experience with heavy trucks, agricultural equipment, and diesel systems is preferred; a CDL is not required but a plus. On-site work with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on diesel mechanic experience in trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical issues and conducting preventive maintenance.
• Familiarity with braking systems, steering, suspension, electrical, and routine service procedures.
• Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and determine repair needs with guidance.
• Comfort using hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and document repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs on trucks, tractors, trailers, and fleet equipment.
• Inspect diesel engines and mechanical systems for wear, leaks, or failures.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, starting, charging, cooling, and fuel system issues.
• Repair braking, steering, suspension, tires, and lighting components.
• Diagnose problems and determine repairs or replacement parts.
• Carry out oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, and adjustments.
• Replace worn components using hand/power tools and diagnostic gear.
• Ensure vehicles are safe and ready for inspections and operations.
• Document maintenance performed, defects found, and parts used.
• Coordinate with drivers to prioritize maintenance needs affecting fleet availability.
• Maintain organized workspace and follow safety procedures.
