Job summary

City of Lincoln in Sun Valley, Idaho is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform journeyman-level maintenance on diesel and gasoline vehicles and equipment, including trucks and construction machinery. You will diagnose, repair, and overhaul engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and electrical systems to keep fleet operations safe and reliable.

The role requires 2–4 years of heavy-duty diesel experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs in varying outdoor and shop

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2–4 years experience in heavy-duty diesel equipment maintenance and repair.
• Valid driver\'s license (Class C; Class A/B preferred).
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Must work in varying environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Complete tune-up, repair, and overhaul of diesel engines, including removal and replacement.
• Complete tune-up, repair, and overhaul of gasoline engines, including removal and replacement.
• Use OEM software to diagnose and repair engines and transmissions.
• Service and adjustment of transmissions.
• Overhaul, maintenance, and adjustments of power and manual steering systems and components.
• Repair and maintenance of brake systems and related components.
