Job summary

General Excavating is seeking a highly motivated diesel mechanic in Lincoln, NE. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance and repair of a fleet of heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment serving the shop and field operations.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of three years of diesel mechanic experience and a strong commitment to safety and compliance with federal and state regulations. You will diagnose malfunctions, perform repairs to manufacturer specs, track work, keep detailed service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Minimum of three years related experience and/or training; hydraulic systems knowledge.
• Valid driver's license; Commercial Driver's License required within 45 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and fleet equipment to maximize reliability and safety.
• Read job orders, plan work procedures, and keep detailed service records.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Lubricate, adjust, and test systems; fabricate attachments as needed; conduct drive tests.
