Job summary

Avis Budget Group is hiring an Auto Body Damage Manager in Tampa to lead fleet damage repair, in-fleeting/de-fleeting, and safety across the damage operations. You will drive performance, build a high-performing team, and manage vendor relationships to maximize fleet utilization and profitability.

You will oversee labor planning, parts sourcing, and cycle-time reduction while maintaining compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; 2-4 year college degree preferred (or equivalent in education, training or experience)
• Minimum of 2 years management experience in related field (rental car, automotive shop or service oriented field)
• Prior experience writing damage is preferable
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and oversee multiple work areas
• Organizational and prioritization skills
• Financial acumen and forecasting skills
• Talent management and delegation
• Proven written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent investigation and problem solving skills
• Negotiation and vendor management skills

Responsibilities

• Develop operating plans to maximize fleet utilization and direct vehicle damage repair
• Manage team performance against business plan with KPI tracking
• Prioritize vehicles for repair or salvage and communicate work to team
• Ensure repair orders are processed per guidelines
• Estimate labor hours and source optimal repair parts
• Minimize damage estimate and repair cycle time
• Conduct damage writer reviews and audits
• Forecast and manage financial drivers including cost of repair
• Manage body shop relationships and vendor audits
• Oversee purchase orders, invoicing, and timely payments
• Maintain vendor insurance files
• Oversee bus damage repair at bus locations
• Manage hiring, onboarding, training, and performance of managers and employees
• Supervise and evaluate staff to maintain high performance culture
• Implement HR policies in cooperation with HR partners
• Ensure a safe work environment per safety policies
• May take on additional duties as directed by management
