Job summary

UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. in Parsippany, New Jersey is seeking an Automotive Technician to join our fleet maintenance team.

This role administers maintenance on a diverse range of vehicles including delivery vans, heavy-duty tractors, and trailers with diesel, gasoline, and alternative propulsion systems. The position requires hands-on troubleshooting of hydraulic brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.

Qualifications

• Current documented automotive mechanical experience
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer
• Possesses full complement of personal hand tools
• Class A/B or A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) - Preferred
• Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis
• Available to work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs
• Wears personal protective equipment as required
• Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity, exposure to chemicals, dust, noise, etc.

Responsibilities

• Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
• Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
• Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
• Operates standard and manual transmission
• Operates power and pneumatic tools
