Job summary

Trinity Industries seeks a data-driven Portfolio Analyst to translate fleet, maintenance, financial, and operational data into clear insights that support asset deployment and profitability.

You will partner across Portfolio Management, Maintenance Operations, Finance, IT, and BI to strengthen decision-making, build dashboards, and deliver executive reporting for the railcar leasing portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a data analyst or BI role in an asset-intensive industry.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying large datasets.
• Advanced Excel; experience with Power BI/Tableau.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain dashboards tracking utilization, availability, and revenue across ~150,000 railcars.
• Monitor asset health trends and identify at-risk inventory.
• Support lease-term analytics with Portfolio Management leadership.
• Own executive-level reports and consolidate data from ERP, AMS, Salesforce, etc.
• Provide ad hoc analyses for VPs and SVP leadership and assist in metrics for profitability.
