Morgan Stanley is offering a Fixed Income Investment & Business Analysis Co-op in Boston for a six-month period. You will gain hands-on exposure supporting investment, research, and business functions across fixed income strategies.

Work alongside portfolio managers, analysts, and traders, participating in market research, reporting, and day-to-day investment activities while developing analytical and communication skills within a global financial institution.

Qualifications

• Ability to commit to six months of full-time co-op employment and commute to the Boston office for the required in-office schedule.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field, with an expected graduation date following completion of the co-op.
• Demonstrated interest in financial markets, investing, economics, or asset management through coursework, extracurricular activities, or prior experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
• Experience with financial research, data analysis, or investment-related projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg and advanced Excel skills are a plus.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor financial markets, economic developments, and investment trends.
• Conduct market, sector, and investment research to support investment decision-making.
• Support portfolio managers, analysts, and traders with day-to-day investment activities and strategic initiatives.
• Track government auctions, bond issuances, market activity, and portfolio exposures.
• Compile, analyze, and summarize market data, research findings, and investment insights.
• Assist with portfolio reporting, competitor analysis, and business reporting for internal stakeholders.
• Support credit and fundamental research through the collection and analysis of financial and statistical information.
• Monitor portfolio holdings, trading activity, and business metrics.
• Prepare presentations, reports, and materials for meetings and investment discussions.
• Propose ideas to improve business processes and operational efficiency.
• Complete ad-hoc research, reporting, and analytical projects supporting business needs.
