The Virgin Islands Water & Power Authority is seeking an Accountant II to perform intermediate accounting work, including analyzing and controlling accounting transactions and maintaining records. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and at least three years of professional accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on fixed assets, cost tracking and reporting.

• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Strong Excel and PC software skills.
• Ability to prepare detailed financial reports.

Responsabilités

• Identify and track all company owned or leased equipment and property.
• Record descriptions, values, locations and related details.
• Conduct periodic inventories to keep asset records accurate.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and schedules; audit accounting records.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations of major general ledger accounts.
• Prepare accounting schedules for management and external auditors.
• Reconcile vendor statements and maintain subsidiary ledger.
• Create and monitor controls and forms for fixed assets recording.
• Track project costs into fixed asset accounts and close after project completion.
• Reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledger to general ledger.
• Update detailed fixed assets and accumulated depreciation schedules.
• Assist auditors with audit schedules relating to fixed assets.
• Analyze fixed assets as requested by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
