Job summary

The City of Virginia Beach Finance Department seeks an Accountant II to join a dynamic team responsible for managing revenues, expenditures and general ledger activities. You will prepare VDOT reimbursement packages and ensure expenditures align with program agreements.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting and 3+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination, with experience in state or local government. A Master's is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and 3 years of experience in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with state/local government accounting and construction contracts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare VDOT reimbursement packages with project managers and track project revenues on the general ledger.
• Manage and record VDOT revenues and ensure revenue accruals are recorded.
• Other duties as assigned by the department.
