About the Opportunity
Taylor White is partnering with a growing, infrastructure-focused organization to find a Staff Accountant who enjoys the intersection of project accounting, fixed assets, and financial analysis. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants visibility across departments and a real voice in how capital dollars are tracked and spent.
What You’ll Do
- Financial Analysis & Variance Reporting: Prepare monthly budget-to-actual variance analyses for department heads and project leaders.
- CAPEX & Fixed Asset Management: Track capital expenditures against project budgets, maintain tight controls over Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting, and manage the full asset lifecycle, from multi-entity allocation through depreciation.
- Vendor & Contractor Financial Oversight: Serve as the primary financial point of contact for high-value vendors and construction partners, handling invoice reconciliation, milestone payment structures, and contract compliance.
- Spend & Cost Optimization: Conduct ad hoc analysis of corporate spend, historical vendor pricing trends, and contract compliance to uncover cost-saving opportunities.
- GL Integrity & Coding Governance: Review transaction workflows to ensure accurate GL account, class, and project/task coding, and correct coding exceptions in the ERP before data reaches the general ledger.
- Month-End Close: Prepare capital accruals, amortization schedules, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations to support a timely close.
- AR & Revenue Support: Assist with AR aging research, revenue reconciliation, and billing analysis to support cash flow tracking.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a highly quantitative field
- 1 to 3 years of experience in corporate accounting, FP&A, project accounting, or fixed asset management
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, fixed asset accounting, capital vs. expense rules, and advanced GL structures
- NetSuite experience strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP, Index/Match, nested formulas, dynamic pivot tables, financial modeling). This is a must-have.
- Excellent communication skills, with the financial acumen to present data clearly to internal leaders and constructively challenge over-budget spend or project overruns
Nice to Have
- Multi-entity accounting experience, including intercompany capital allocations or eliminations
- Background in telecom, utilities, construction, or other CAPEX-heavy infrastructure industries
