Job summary

Interface is a global flooring and sustainability leader focused on carbon negative goals by 2040. The Fixed Asset Accountant role supports accurate asset records for machinery, buildings, and tooling in a manufacturing setting, coordinating with many teams to ensure proper capitalization, depreciation, and reporting.

Responsibilities include maintaining the fixed asset subledger, preparing monthly journals, reconciling balances, and assisting with inventories and asset disposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience with fixed assets preferred.
• Experience with fixed asset subledger, depreciation, and capitalization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fixed asset subledger with additions, transfers, retirements, and depreciation.
• Review capex activity and assist capitalization, categorization, and placement in service.
• Track construction‑in‑progress projects and coordinate capitalization with engineering and operations.
• Prepare and post monthly fixed asset journal entries for depreciation and disposals.
• Reconcile fixed asset balances to the general ledger and resolve reconciling items.
• Maintain detailed asset records including tags, locations, and useful lives.
• Support physical inventories and asset verification across sites.
• Assist with asset disposals, retirements, and transfers with proper documentation.
• Prepare routine fixed asset reports and management analyses; support budgeting and forecasting.
