Job summary

American Battery Technology Company is seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to own the fixed asset function, ensuring US GAAP compliance, asset lifecycle management, and strong internal controls across multiple facilities.

You will manage acquisitions, depreciation, reconciliations, CIP coordination, and audits, while collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to support capital projects and inventories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with fixed asset & capex.
• Experience in manufacturing or capital-intensive settings.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP for fixed assets and capitalization.
• Proven month-end close processes & reconciliations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fixed asset subledger across multiple facilities.
• Record asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, impairments, retirements.
• Calculate and review monthly depreciation and amortization.
• Reconcile fixed asset subledger to GL monthly.
• Prepare fixed asset roll-forward schedules for reporting.
• Ensure asset classification and capitalization per policy & GAAP.
• Monitor CIP balances and place into service.
• Develop procedures for large-scale capital programs.
• Collaborate with plant leadership on acquisitions, replacements, upgrades, disposals.
• Maintain strong internal controls over fixed asset processes & capex.
• Coordinate annual inventories & cycle counts.
• Investigate and resolve asset discrepancies.
• Prepare audit schedules for external auditors.
• Support SOX compliance efforts & control testing.
• Prepare and ensure property tax obligations compliance.
• Analyze depreciation trends and asset utilization.
