Job summary

PING's Fitting & Performance team is seeking a summer intern to blend engineering with golf analytics in a hands-on role.

You'll contribute to fitting applications, analyze performance data, and help develop models and algorithms. The internship is on-site in Phoenix, requires at least 2 years of college coursework, and runs 8 weeks (40 hours/week).

Qualifications

  • Pursuing degrees in Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with statistical fluency.
  • Interest in golf and applying technical expertise to improve golfer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support development/enhancement of Ballnamic, WebFit, PING Co-Pilot and related fitting apps.
  • Analyze golfer and fitting data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Develop algorithms/models to support fitting recommendations.
  • Evaluate data quality and perform statistical analyses.
  • Assist with user testing/validation of fitting technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineers, fitters, and product teams to improve fittings.
  • Support research initiatives on golfer performance and equipment optimization.

Join PING's Fitting & Performance team for an exciting summer internship where engineering meets golf analytics. Our team is dedicated to enhancing player performance through innovative fitting technologies, data-driven insights, and advanced analytical tools. At PING, interns gain hands-on experience solving real-world challenges while contributing to projects that directly impact the custom fitting experience for golfers around the world.

We are seeking students pursuing degrees in Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or related technical disciplines. Successful candidates will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, statistical fluency, and a passion for using data to improve performance and decision‑making. An interest in golf and a desire to apply technical expertise to enhance the golfer experience are highly valued.

Projects may include:

  • Supporting the development and enhancement of Ballnamic, WebFit, PING Co-Pilot, and related fitting applications
  • Analyzing golfer, club fitting, and performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Developing algorithms, models, and analytical tools that support fitting recommendations
  • Evaluating data quality, performing statistical analyses, and presenting findings to stakeholders
  • Assisting with user testing and validation of fitting technologies and applications
  • Collaborating with engineers, fitters, and product teams to improve fitting experiences and outcomes
  • Supporting research initiatives focused on golfer performance, equipment optimization, and custom fitting best practices

Additional Information:

  • A minimum of 2 years of college coursework must be completed before the internship begins
  • You must be willing to dedicate at least 8 weeks (40 hours per week) to the internship
  • The internship requires you to be onsite in Phoenix, Arizona
