Job summary

Trillium Staffing is seeking experienced fitters in Houston, TX to assemble and fit heavy structural components for large machinery projects.

You will read blueprints, measure and cut parts, and perform Flux Core welding on carbon steel, with 5+ years of fit-up experience preferred. The role requires independent work and collaboration with welders and supervisors, with night shift availability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structural fit-up experience (heavy fabrication preferred; oilfield/heavy fab backgrounds ideal, not pipe-focused).
• Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills with ability to measure accurately.
• Ability to tack weld during the fit-up process
• Experience working with tight tolerances on structural assemblies
• Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with welders and supervisors
• Must pass preemployment screening

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Measure, cut, and align metal components to prepare them for welding.
• Fit and assemble structural steel, pipe, or metal components according to specifications.
• Perform Flux Core welding on carbon steel.
• Experienced in 3G, SubArc, & 4G (overhead) welding
• Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and structural standards.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, torches, and cutting tools.
• Operate cranes and forklifts.

Trillium Staffing is now seeking Fitters in Houston, TX!

Houston, Texas

Schedules:
-Nights: Monday-Friday with a 4:30pm start time, currently working 10.5 hour days, Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday OT.Pay rate is $26-$30/hr, depending on experience.

Candidates willbe fitting on large parts in an industrial setting that builds large custom machinery. Must have experience with full penetration plate splicing (3/8 ich to 1-1/4 inch).

Key Responsibilities
