Job summary

Excel Fitness in Durham, NC is seeking a full‑time Team Lead/Assistant Supervisor to support the GM and AM in achieving member growth and service goals. You will train Team Players, track performance, and ensure standards across operations and cleanliness.

The role requires CPR/AED certification, strong leadership, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel. You will be a key liaison for daily tasks and community outreach initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/AED certification required; uncertified teammates may train within 30 days.
• Comfortable standing for long periods.
• Proven ability to lead, encourage, develop, and supervise others.
• Demonstrated leadership to manage a team.
• Great communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Team‑oriented, motivated, and well‑organized.
• Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and using a computer.
• Familiar with Excel’s mission and Planet Fitness brand and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the GM and AM in implementing strategies to attract and keep members based on Excel Core Values.
• Help train new Team Players and train on operational processes as needed.
• Utilize Team Performance Tracker to meet company metric expectations.
• Supervise and inspire Team Players to perform to their best abilities.
• Monitor and maintain a high level of member service, cleanliness, and atmosphere.
• Identify training needs and ensure Team Players meet Excel standards.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure club is presentable and up to Excel Standard.
• Oversee inventory and communicate with GM/AM on orders.
• May oversee club operations when GM/AM are off.
• Stay proficient in PFHQ and Excel platforms and updates.
• Represent the company at community events and outreach activities.
